Adaptive hand visualization is an interaction technique in which the appearance of the user’s virtual hands dynamically changes based on contextual cues, such as gaze direction, task demands, or proximity to objects. Instead of using a fixed visualization (e.g., always opaque or always invisible), the system adjusts transparency or visibility in real time to reduce visual clutter, improve depth perception, and support more precise hand-object interaction. For example, the hands could fade out when the user focuses on a target object, or become more visible when the user looks at their fingers or interacts with virtual content.
This thesis topic requires development of an AR/VR scene (preferably using Unity3D) and conduction and evaluation of an empirical user study.
