Researchers from the IENT participated in the ITU-T Study Group 12 (SG12) meeting on Performance, Quality of Service and Quality of Experience, held in Geneva, Switzerland, from 9 to 17 June 2026.
The meeting focused on the further development of international standards and recommendations for the assessment of Performance, Quality of Service (QoS), and in particular Quality of Experience (QoE) for speech, video, and multimedia services. Discussions covered topics including objective and subjective video quality assessment, quality evaluation for cloud gaming, AI-based quality assessment methods, as well as methodologies for evaluating immersive media and future communication services. In addition, numerous new and revised ITU-T Recommendations and Technical Reports were approved.
